Chapter 10: Valuable fragments

Valuable fragments (lv.65+)

1. Find Myriel in Kalanthia Island.

"Hello my good friend. Good to see you again.

I've just received news from Anduin, he wants to talk to you as soon as possible. It seems that he has found an interesting clue that would be worth looking into.

Go see Anduin now and keep me informed."

2. Go to Anduin in Kalanthia Island.

Anduin:

"Hello adventurer, I'm glad you're here, I have something interesting to tell you.

Deckard, the priest in Kalanthia's temple came to see me yesterday to discuss some issues. I told him about some of the details of the recent events and he is quite sure that he can help us move forward in our mission.

Deckard is a wise and reasonable person, I am sure he can help us a lot. Go and listen to him carefully."

3. Go to Deckard in Kalanthia Island.

Deckard:

"So you are Anduin's friend. Come closer. I don't know, maybe what I'm about to tell you should be for your ears only.

Yesterday, Anduin told me about Thorgar, a very important person centuries ago and even as powerful as any king. He was the major Guardian of the ancient religion that ruled most of the world at the time. As time passed, under his command, the temple he managed became the largest of all. His power and the wealth of the temple also grew, and the temple even became known as the temple of Thorgar.

According to the chronicles, Thorgar became a greedy and arrogant person. The Council of Elders felt that it would be unwise to let Thorgar keep gathering more power when they became aware of some shady dealings inside the temple. When it was decided to remove him from his position to assign another Guardian, he fiercely opposed that decision.

In one quick move, he gathered all his followers and locked themselves inside the temple. They had decided that they would only leave the place dead. Some priests who had chosen not to join Thorgan got together and decided to enter the temple and arrest the rioters. They managed to get in and both parties fought fiercely. At some point during the fight, a huge fire started inside the temple. The fire spread quickly and many died, among them Thorgar and many of his followers. The fire destroyed the temple, and when the flames were gone, only a huge pile of stone was left.

Knowing where Thorgar's Temple is located is our goal. Nobody remembers today where it is. But I suddenly had an idea. According to the chronicles, the stone used to build the temple contains a very rare mineral. It is said that Thorgar specifically chose this mineral because he thought it was appropriate for channeling the spiritual energy inside the temple.

It came to my mind that if I could get some fragments of stones containing the same mineral, I could make a compass that would lead us to the temple. Unfortunately, I do not know of any quarry where it can be extracted, but I know of a place where it can be found. In Giants Cave there is a creature known as Barif from which it can be collected.

Go to Giants Cave and bring back 25 fragments containing this mineral. When you come back you will get more information."

4. Go to Giant Cave, Kill Barif Mobs and get 25 Stone Fragment.

5. Return to Deckard.

Deckard:

"Great, with these pieces in my hands I will need some time to craft the compass and synchronize it with the Temple's ruins to find its location.

Go see Anduin and tell him I'm working on it. It won't take too long to get everything ready."

6. Come back to Anduin.

Anduin:

"Excellent, Deckard has all my trust. I am sure he will get the compass ready in time.

You know, an object of great value to our mission must have been left behind in the ruins of Thorgar's Temple. In other occasion I will tell you more about this object. The only information we have about it is that it was part of the temple treasure and as far as we know it should still be there.

Go with Myriel and share with her the findings of what we achieved today."

7. Report to Myriel.

Myriel:

"Excellent my friend. I guess you could never let us down thanks to your courage and will.

Please accept this reward as a token of gratitude."
